Psalter Marathon

The choir of Saint Thomas’ Episcopal Church at 4900 Jackwood St., Houston, TX 77096 will chant through all the 150 psalms as a fundraising event for their overseas residency next year! The singing will be ongoing from approximately 9am to 5pm, and there will be other quiet activities available in the nave.

• Each of the five books of the psalter will be sung straight through, with 10-minute breaks between each book.
• There will be a class/lecture on the Psalms at 10 am and at 1 pm, in an adjoining space, so that attendees can hear any part of the psalter and still attend the lecture.
• From 11:15-noon and 2:15-3:00, healing prayer and anointing will be offered in the church to any who wish, as the psalms are being sung.
• For those wishing to pass the time in the church listening to a larger portion of the singing, there will be giant cathedral jigsaw puzzles in the nave, raffle items, lunch available, books to peruse, slideshows playing, and prayer books available to follow the full psalter text.

There is no entrance fee, but donations will be accepted.
