Musical Improv and Spirituality Retreat

Join us for a special retreat with Will Parker Saturday, January 26 from *;30-11:30AM in St. Bede’s Chapel. This playful, interactive retreat explores the connections between theatrical/musical improv and theology. Even if you have no experience with improv or music, this workshop is designed to feel accessible to all levels of experience. Some of the workshop activities include: improv games and exercises, improvised acting and singing, prayer and Christian liturgy with group vocal improvisation, group discussion, and brief readings (done during the workshop) about improvisation and theology. We will explore how important elements like play, attentiveness, self-giving, acceptance, and trust are vital in both improvisation and loving well. Listening is also always a contribution, and all activities are challenge-by-choice. It is always ok to observe! Light breakfast will be served.
