Houston Choral Society presents Duruflé’s Requiem

April 26 @ 7:30 PM 9:00 PM

Maurice Duruflé was commissioned in May 1941 to compose a symphonic poem, but wrote a Requiem instead. He completed it in September 1947 and dedicated it to the memory of his father. Experience the profound depth of emotion in Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem. This masterpiece merges Gregorian chant themes with modern orchestration, creating a solemn journey through life, death, and transcendence. Join us for an evening of moving choral and orchestral composition that resonates with the soul.
